At 9:00am on July 12, 2008, volunteers and local officials cut ribbon and walked on the inaugural trail segment of the French River Greenway.
The half-mile-long Perryville Trace begins adjacent to Perryville Dam, between the railroad tracks and the river, on Perryville Road in Webster. A newly installed trail head sign marks the entrance.
Perryville Trace is open to the public at no charge from dawn to dusk for walking and enjoying nature. Motorized vehicles are prohibited. Paddlers can launch canoes and kayaks from the site, just upstream of the dam, to paddle the Perryville impoundment. Visitors should be aware that the bridge between Webster and Dudley on Perryville Road is currently closed for construction, and they must approach from the Webster side.
